Hugh Jarrett is a former member of the Jordanaires who worked with Elvis as bass-singer of the Jordanaires up until 1958. After recording and appearing in the film King Creole, Hugh Jarrett left the group to work at Nashville radio station WLAC.
Ray Walker replaced Jarrett in 1958, completing the Stoker-Matthews-Hawkins-Walker combination that would anchor the group for more than two decades and would be the lineup elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
