Captain Pattee Byng, 2nd Viscount Torrington, [1] PC (25 May 1699 – 23 January 1747), was a British Army officer and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1723 to 1733 when he succeeded to the peerage as Viscount Torrington. His career included service as Captain of the Yeomen of the Guard during the reign of King George II .

George Byng, 3rd Viscount Torrington was baptised on 21 September 1701 at Southill, Bedfordshire, England G. 1 He was the son of Admiral George Byng, 1st Viscount Torrington and Margaret Master. 2, 3 He married Elizabeth Daniel, daughter of Lyonel Daniel and Martha Master, on 21 August 1736. 4 He died on 7 April 1750 at age 48. 1
