Amherst has an endowment of $3.322 billion (as of June 30, 2021), as well as extensive physical resources. The College’s scenic 1,000-acre campus is near the center of the Town of Amherst. Amherst has a distinguished group of alumni. The College has about 23,000 living alumni, who are represented in almost every walk of life.
Admission Tours & Information Sessions. There are a number of ways you can experience Amherst in person. Reservations are not necessary for individual students and their families, or for groups of 10 or fewer. Groups of more than 10 should call the Office of Admission at (413) 542-2328 two weeks in advance to schedule a visit.
Amherst College requires enrollment in a major before the start of Fall classes in the junior year. Prospective Neuroscience Majors should enroll sometime during their sophomore year and prior to the enrollment deadline of the college (typically the second to last week of the spring semester of sophomore year).
