Richard Hurndall, the actor who died on April 13 at the age of 73, was recognized not only for his quality in the theatre, which he entered over 50 years ago, but also on television and as a familiar radio voice. On the stage he is remembered for his work in the three C. P. Snow adaptations of the 1960s.
I quite like Hurndall's performance, he is perfectly charming, but he doesn’t really sound or look that much like Hartnell. The person they should've cast, in my opinion, is Geoffrey Bayldon. He's the spitting image physically and he sounds like Hartnell. I think he would have been a much better First Doctor.

Richard Hurndall is better. Richard got the personality of the first Doctor just right: slightly demanding but chirpy at the same time. A lot of what's wrong with Bradley's first Doctor is to blame on writing rather than Bradley himself, however I still think Hurndall gets the mannerisms better.
