When social organizer Nella Fitzgerald suggests to them that they rent out their yacht to a group of nouveaux riches , Geoffrey coldly declines the offer. His practical daughter Linda, however, convinces him to accept the idea, and Nella begins combing the Social Register of 1929 for down-and-out "blue bloods" to employ on the cruise.

4 de mar. de 2017 · A family of bluebloods made destitute by the depression are scammed into leasing out their yacht and posing as crew to tacky “new money”, one of whom is their former cook. The scam turns out to be a plot by the gruff captain (Ned Sparks, the Walter Matthau of his day) to shipwreck them on a desert island run by a madcap queen (Mary Boland) and escape with their money.
A family loses everything in the crash of 1929 except for their yacht. In order to make money, they rent out the yacht. A couple of guys feel sorry for the young maiden, who has everything except cash, and decide to have Monte Carlo night. They rig the roulette wheel so that the house is the winner. Of course she knows nothing about it.
