Se apoya en la sencillez argumental, la linealidad narrativa y la frescura de sus intérpretes, en un Londres que atrapa con su tráfico y grandes espacios, que Hopkins filma en planos abiertos y luminosos que sirven para liberar las tensiones de sus protagonistas.
Last Chance Harvey. Dustin Hoffman da vida a Harvey, un hombre hundido (acaba de quedarse sin trabajo) que viaja a Londres para asistir a la boda de su hija. Para colmo de males, lo han alojado solo en un hotel, mientras el resto de la familia comparte una cómoda casa, y su hija quiere que sea su padrastro, y no él, quien la lleve al altar.

In London for his daughter's wedding, a struggling jingle-writer, Harvey Shine (Dustin Hoffman), misses his plane to New York, and thus loses his job.
