In 1980, Yvonne Rousseau published The Murders at Hanging Rock , a book which examined the various explanations of the girls’ disappearances.
Hanging Rock is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9.00-5.00pm. The incoming gate closes at 4.00pm, so you must enter the Reserve prior to this time. All visitors must exit by 5.00pm. Access to Hanging Rock itself is not permitted on days where winds above 40km/h are forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology.
