Barrett es el segundo álbum como solista de Syd Barrett, fundador de Pink Floyd, grabado y editado en 1970, poco después del lanzamiento de su primer álbum en solitario The Madcap Laughs. Para promocionarlo, Barrett estuvo en el programa de radio de John Peel , Top Gear , en febrero de 1970, donde presentó un único tema.
Syd Barrett zmarł 7 lipca 2006 w swoim domu w Cambridge w wieku 60 lat. Przyczyną śmierci były komplikacje związane z cukrzycą i rakiem trzustki. Jego zwłoki zostały skremowane, a prochy prawdopodobnie przekazane siostrze i najbliższej rodzinie. Grobu Syda nie ma na cmentarzu w Cambridge.
Roger Keith (Syd) Barrett ( Cambridge, 6 januari 1946 – aldaar, 7 juli 2006) was een Engelse zanger, gitarist, componist en kunstenaar. Syd Barrett werd vooral bekend als de oprichter van de rockgroep Pink Floyd. Barrett was zeven jaar als rockmuzikant actief, voor hij zich terugtrok uit de openbaarheid.
