2nd Baron De L'Isle and Dudley Philip Sidney, 2nd Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst, was the son of Philip Charles Sidney, 1st Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst and Lady Sophia Fitz-Clarence. He married, firstly, Mary Foulis, daughter of Sir William Foulis of Ingleby, 8th Bt. and Mary Jane Ross, on 23 April 1850.
His son William Philip Sidney 1st Viscount de l'Isle (age 36) succeeded 6th Baron De Lisle and Dudley, 7th Baronet Shelley-Sidney of Penshurst Place in Kent. On 05 Apr 1991 William Philip Sidney 1st Viscount de l'Isle (age 81) died.

He was the son of William Sidney, 5th Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst and Winifred Agneta Yorke Bevan. He was educated at Eton College and at Magdalene College, Cambridge.
