  4. John Blyde (1828-1899), a Sheffield-born scissors and surgical instrument manufacturer, was baptised at a Methodist New Connexion Chapel. He was the son of James Blyde, scissorsmith, and his wife, Caroline, the daughter of George Gregory of Norton. The Blyde family business had been launched by John’s father.

  6. Edmund Sheffield, 2nd Duke of Buckingham. Edmund, who succeeded his father as 2nd Duke of Buckingham, was baptised at St Margaret's Westminster on 29th January 1716 and served in Germany with his uncle. He died of consumption in Rome on 30th October 1735 and his body was returned to the Abbey for burial in the family vault on 31st January 1736.
