25 de mar. de 2018 · Peter I was the second Grand Duke of Oldenburg and like his predecessor, he did not formally use the title of Grand Duke. He was born Prince Peter Friedrich Ludwig of Holstein-Gottorp in Riesenberg, Kingdom of Prussia now Prabuty, Poland, on January 17, 1755, to Prince Georg Ludwig of Holstein-Gottorp and Princess Sophie Charlotte of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck.
He was the only surviving son of Prince Georg Ludwig of Holstein-Gottorp and Sophie Charlotte of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck. Prince Peter served as the Regent of the Duchy of Oldenburg for his incapacitated cousin Peter Frederick William from 1785 to 1823. He then served as Peter I, Duke of Oldenburg, from 1823 until his death in 1829.
