When Carl Oscar Bernadotte af Wisborg was born on 27 May 1890, in Karlskrona, Blekinge, Sweden, his father, Prince Oscar Carl August Bernadotte, was 30 and his mother, Ebba Henriette af Fulkila Munck, was 32. He married Marianne de Geer on 15 March 1915, in Kolbäck, Västmanland, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter.
Prince Oscar and his wife princess Ebba née Munck af Fulkila were both deeply religious and active in organizations such as YMCA of Sweden and the Salvation Army. The architect Gunnar Asplund, known for the famous Woodland Cemetery, Skogskyrkogården, designed the Bernadotte mausoleum in which Prince Oscar rests.
