Charles Babbage fue un matemático y científico británico. Es considerado como “El Padre de la Computación” pues fue el inventor de las máquinas calculadoras programables y sentó los principios básicos de las computadoras modernas. Biografía Charles Babbage nació en Teignmouth, Devonshire, Gran Bretaña, el 26 de diciembre de 1791.
Charles Babbage falleció, debido a problemas renales, el 18 de octubre de 1871, a los 79 años, en su residencia de Marylebone (Londres, Reino Unido). Sus restos reposan en el cementerio de Kensal Green en la capital inglesa. Parte de su cerebro se encuentra conservado en formol y expuesto en The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Charles Babbage nació en Gran Bretaña el 26 de diciembre de 1791. Matemático de profesión, dedicó casi toda su vida al desarrollo de un mecanismo capaz de elaborar de forma automática las tablas de números -similares a las tablas de logaritmos- que se utilizaban en aquella época como instrumentos para facilitar los cálculos.

Babbage himself failed to build a complete calculating engine and his designs remained a historical curiosity for over 150 years. Finally, in 2002, the first full-size Babbage Engine (Difference Engine No. 2), built faithfully to the original designs, was completed at the Science Museum in London, the culmination of a seventeen year project.
11 de sept. de 2019 · Born in 1791 to an English banker and his wife, Charles Babbage (1791–1871) became fascinated by math at an early age, teaching himself algebra and reading widely on continental mathematics. When in 1811, he went to Cambridge to study, he discovered that his tutors were deficient in the new mathematical landscape, and that, in fact, he already knew more than they did.
