King’s Scholarship Awards. Eton College has 70 King’s Scholars who board in College House under the care of the Master-in-College (the House Master), the Matron-in-College (the Dame) and pastoral team. Eton College is an independent boarding school founded in 1440 by King Henry VI for seventy boys from disadvantaged backgrounds. To this day, the school continues to offer seventy full scholarships.
