21 de jun. de 2023 · Understanding the difference between decimal and percentage in Power BI. Decimal and percentage are two different ways of expressing numerical values. While decimal values range from 0 to 1 (or -1 to 1 in some cases), percentages range from 0% to 100%. For example, if you have a decimal value of 0.5, this translates to 50% as a percentage.
Display numbers as percentages. To quickly apply percentage formatting to selected cells, click Percent Style in the Number group on the Home tab, or press Ctrl+Shift+%. Next time you hear on TV that inflation "increased by 0.5 percent from 2.1% to 2.6%", you will know they are wrong and actually mean percentage points.

25 de abr. de 2024 · You often see writers referring to percentage point increases or decreases. Be careful not to confuse percentage points with percentage change, as they aren’t the same thing. Let’s say a political party’s approval rate increases from 40% to 50%. It’s correct to say that this is an increase of 10 percentage points.
