Jesus College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college's full name is The College of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John the Evangelist and the glorious Virgin Saint Radegund, near Cambridge.
Jesus College is well known for its beautiful grounds and is one of the few Cambridge Colleges which allow visitors to take a walk on its beautiful lawns during the summer months. Assets worth around £236,000,000 make it one of the wealthiest colleges in Cambridge, although not nearly as wealthy as Trinity college .
Shailaja Fennell is Director of Research at Cambridge Central Asia Forum, Professor of Regional Transformation and Economic Security, and Director of Studies in Land Economy at Jesus College. Shailaja has been researching the linkages between rural development, environmental, and educational strategies across the regions of sub-Saharan Africa, South and South East Asia and Central Asia since 2004.
