The indelible image is the result of the brilliant design work and indefatigible commitment of the architect, Jorn Utzon, despite the troubled and complicated history that plagued the project after Utzon, a young Danish architect, won the anonymous design competition in 1957.
On 8 November 2023 the Sydney Opera House unveiled a series of plates honouring the contribution of Jørn Utzon, Ove Arup and Peter Hall in the creation of this iconic building, and the collective creativity of those involved from conception to construction.

Hace 4 días · In 1999 Utzon agreed to return as the building’s architect, overseeing an improvement project. He redesigned the former Reception Hall, and it was reopened in 2004 as the Utzon Room. It has an eastern view of Sydney Harbour and is used for receptions, seminars and other meetings, and chamber music performances.
