Edit: removed part about mistaking a bitten tongue for sore throat prior to diagnosis, as apparently no one bothered to read the whole paragraph before telling me that sore throats aren't epilepsy related. DUH! But when the VERY BACK of my tongue is what i bite, it can feel similar to the beginning of a sore throat until i realize i bit myself.

Although nighttime tongue biting is actually pretty common, if you carry on doing it regularly then it can lead to some nasty problems such as tongue ulcers and even a ‘scalloped’ tongue where the tongue eventually doesn’t grow back on the bitten edges.
