Gustav Lindau ( * 2 de mayo de 1866 - 10 de octubre de 1923 ) fue un botánico, pteridólogo y micólogo germano . Comienza sus estudios de Historia natural en Heidelberg y luego en Berlín, donde sería alumno del Prof. Simon Schwendener (1829-1919). En 1888 obtiene su doctorado defendiendo la tesis sobre los apotecios de liquenes.

Lindau (formerly Lindau im Bodensee; German: [ˈlɪndaʊ̯] ; Swabian: Linde or Lindou/Linda) is a major town and island on the eastern side of Lake Constance (Bodensee) in Bavaria, Germany. It is the capital of the rural district ( Landkreis ) of Lindau and is near the borders of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and the Swiss cantons of St. Gallen and Thurgau .
