Introduction to Galileo Galilei. Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy on February 15, 1564. His father, Vincenzo Galilei, was a musician. Galileo's mother was Giulia degli Ammannati. Galileo was the first of six (though some people believe seven) children. His family belonged to the nobility but was not rich.
Der Schiefe Turm von Pisa wurde in der ersten Phase unter dem Architekten und Bildhauer Bonanno Pisano errichtet. Das bestätigt nun ein Fund der Paleografie-Expertin Giulia Ammannati von der Scuola Normale di Pisa. Hace 6 días · Ammannati’s most important work there was in collaboration with Vasari and Giacomo da Vignola on the villa of Pope Julius, the Villa Giulia (begun 1551). Cosimo de’ Medici brought Ammannati back to Florence in 1555; he was to spend almost all of his remaining career in service to the Medicis.
