8 de nov. de 2019 · Theater director Harold Clurman invited Franchot to join the Group Theatre after seeing him in the 1928 play The International. Although Franchot and actor Morris Carnovsky were already both on contract with the guild, they were allowed to participate in the Group Theatre's intensive project to create a community of actors that tackled social justice and the world within its plays.

One of Hollywood's greatest actors, Franchot Tone starred in dozens of movies, Broadway plays and television productions from the 1930s until his death in 1968.
