Read in English by Pamela Nagami Archibald Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery, liberal prime minister (1894-1895), wrote this short biography of William Pitt, the Younger (1759-1806), the controversial young prime minister who led Great Britain during the terrible trial of the Napoleonic Wars.
Archibald Primrose was the king's lieutenant at the Battle of Philiphaugh where he was captured. [2] He was tried and found guilty of treason, and although his life was spared, he was held in prison until Montrose was ordered by Charles I to disband his army and leave the kingdom. [2] Primrose was later released and knighted by the king.
