6 de nov. de 2016 · Rhys ap Tewdwr (before 1065 – 1093) was a Prince of Deheubarth in south-west Wales and member of the Dinefwr dynasty, a branch descended from Rhodri the Great. He was born in the area which is now Carmarthenshire and died at the battle of Brecon in April 1093. He was the founder of the Second Royal Tribe of Wales.

19 de ene. de 2024 · Nest ferch Rhys (c. 1085 before 1136) (popularly called Nesta or Princess Nesta) was the only legitimate daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr, last king of Deheubarth in Wales, by his wife, Gwladys ferch Rhiwallon ap Cynfyn of Powys.

Nest ferch Rhys was the daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr, the last King of Deheubarth (south west Wales) and his wife, Gwladys ferch Rhiwallon ap Cynfyn, Princess of Powys. Facts are as rare as hen’s teeth, but Nest – or Nesta, the Welsh form of Agnes – was born sometime in the 1080s.
When Nest verch Rhys was born about 1085, in Carmarthenshire, Wales, her father, Rhys ap Tewdwr Prince of Deheubarth, was 35 and her mother, Gwladys ferch Rhiwallon, was 26. She married Gerald de Windsor FitzWalter Lord Constable of Windsor Castle in 1104, in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters.
