Days of Wine and Roses almost qualifies as an elaborate advertisement for Alcoholics Anonymous, and at times comes across as the drinking equivalent of a Reefer Madness scare film. John Frankenheimer handles the drama well, turning out great performances from Cliff Robertson and Piper Laurie in what might be the meatiest female role I've seen in any of his films.
