13 de feb. de 2018 · The Royal Mausoleum houses the tomb and remains of Queen Victoria – now the second-longest serving British Monarch in history – and her husband, Prince Albert. It closed in 2007 after the Grade I-listed building was declared structurally unsound due to flooding; the mausoleum sits in marshy land at Frogmore, and moisture has seeped into the fabric of the building, damaging it.
Unmarried, Plunket died of cancer on 28 May 1975 at the age of 51. The Queen unusually attended both his funeral at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace and his memorial service at the Guards' Chapel. He is buried in the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore, the royal family's private graveyard in the Home Park near Windsor Castle.
