Royal Military Academy została utworzona w 1947 roku z połączenia Royal Military Academy w Woolwich (istniejącej od roku 1741) i powstałej w roku 1800 Royal Military College z Sandhurst [1]. Po zniesieniu obowiązkowej służby wojskowej w roku 1960 centrum szkoleniowe zajmuje się tylko szkoleniem kadry zawodowej.
The purpose of this institution was to provide Indian boys with suitable education and training to ensure a high pass-rate for the Indians being sent to the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, as part of the Indianisation program of the officer cadre of the Indian Army.
The Sandhurst Collection also preserves and manages the archives of the academy. The archives contain records of the academy and its predecessors; the Royal Military College Sandhurst 1799-1939 and the Royal Military Academy Woolwich 1741-1939.
1 de ago. de 2019 · The principle idea behind Serve to Lead began after the Second World War, following the amalgamation of the Royal Military Academy Woolwich and the Royal Military College Sandhurst. Serve to Lead served as an anthology of military doctrine, and somewhat of a military Leadership bible to those who attended Sandhurst.
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst welcomed alumni from Intake 12 & 13 for their 70th Reunion, a significant milestone honouring their service and camaraderie. Organised by the Sandhurst Trust, the event brought together former cadets from 1954 to reminisce and celebrate their shared experiences.
