Hace 5 días · Viscount Lascelles, who later went on to succeed his father as Earl of Harewood, married Princess Mary, the only daughter of King George V, at Westminster Abbey in February 1922. As the eldest daughter of the monarch, Princess Mary was granted the additional title of Princess Royal in 1932 following the death of her aunt Princess Louise (the previous holder of the honour).

Hace 3 días · John of Fordun’s Scotichronicon (Continuator) records that "Eadwardus de Bruce, frater domini regis" entered Ireland in 1315 and was chosen "rex totius Hiberniæ" [1062]. Created Earl of Carrick shortly before 24 Oct 1313 by his brother. He landed at Carrickfergus 25 May 1315, and was crowned King of Ireland 2 May 1316.

An ancient quarry has been converted into a lake of romantic appearance, inclosed with lofty rocks of gritstone.
