Hace 4 días · The foundation stone of the hospital was laid by the President, Sir Richard Carr Glyn, on 18th April, 1812. By October, 1814, the main structure was complete. The royal coat of arms in the pediment was made of Coade's artificial stone, the cost, 130 guineas for making and fixing, comparing favourably with the estimate of £500 for Portland stone.
