Like T. elegans, T. sirtalis also have a proportionally larger head and usually dark, vertical markings on the upper labial scales. They also usually have a reddish, brownish, or very pale blue-green patch on the "cheek" (posterior supralabials + lower temporals), and they do not have a dark horizontal bar through the temporals like this.
