The church at Churcham was recorded from 1100 when the Bishop of Hereford gave Gloucester Abbey leave to appropriate it; a chapel of ease at Bulley then belonged to it (fn. 1) and Bulley has remained a chapelry to Churcham. A vicar's portion had been assigned by the early 13th century (fn. 2) and the living has remained a vicarage.
