Hace 1 día · In November 1821, Mexican Regent (and later Mexican Emperor) Agustín de Iturbide formally asked the Consultive Junta to join the First Mexican Empire, and on 5 January 1822, the junta voted in favor of annexation. The Mexicans sent Brigadier General Vicente Filísola to enforce the annexation of Central America.
