Hace 4 días · The grand Grade II-listed Redesdale Hall was built in 1886 for Algernon Freeman-Mitford, the 1st Baron Redesdale and grandfather of the infamous Mitford Sisters, as a market house and town hall. The hall was the subject of a painting by LS Lowry, who visited in the 1940s – which was bought by singer Elton John after he used Redesdale Hall as a venue to launch a new record label in 1973.
