Sophia Albertina travelled to Quedlinburg in 1787, and took her oath as abbess on 15 October. As princess-abbess, she was active in the rule of the city of Quedlinburg, and her rule has been described as a popular one. She founded schools for poor children, established the first theatre in the city, and increased the salary of the clergy.

Hedwig Sophia of Holstein-Gottorp. Swedish-German duchess. She was a Princess of Sweden of the Wittelsbach Dynasty and by marriage a Duchess of Holstein-Gottorp in Germany. She was one of the three children of King Charles XI and Queen Ulrica Eleanor of Sweden who survived childhood, four of her five brothers having died in infancy.
Hedwig Eleonora of Holstein-Gottorp (23 October 1636 – 24 November 1715) was Queen of Sweden from 1654 until 1660 as the wife of King Charles X Gustav. She served as regent during the minority of her son, King Charles XI , from 1660 until 1672, and during the minority of her grandson, King Charles XII , in 1697.
