Synopsis: Gaspard the Good (Lon Chaney) is a simple miner and fur trapper whose happiness is destroyed when his rival Benson (Alan Hale) steals both his mine and his girl Thalie (Dagmar Godowsky).
Upon the father's release, Gaspard, fearing to lose the child, captures a half-starved wolf, which he conceals as a trap for Benson. By chance the child arrives first, and Gaspard, after a fight with the wolf, is reconciled with Benson and to the relinquishment of the child.
