  1. 22 de ene. de 2018 · When W.E. Gladstone died in 1898 it passed to his grandson, William Glynne Charles Gladstone (son of W. E. Gladstone’s eldest son, William Henry Gladstone, who had died in 1891). After he was killed in the First World War the estate was purchased by his uncle Henry Neville Gladstone, later to become 1st Baron Gladstone of Hawarden.

  3. He was the eldest son of William Ewart Gladstone*, the celebrated prime minister. Educated like his father at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford, he followed him into politics, serving as Member of Parliament for Chester (1865-68), Whitby (1868-80), and East Worcestershire (1880-85).
