Lionel Tollemache was born 30 January 1648/49 at Helmingham, Suffolk, the eldest surviving son of Sir Lionel Tollemache, 3rd Baronet of Helmingham, and his wife, Elizabeth Murray, Countess of Dysart. [1] He was styled as Lord Huntingtower from 1651 or about 1654 [2] as heir to his mother.
