Lucie Mannhiem was a German singer and actress. Mannheim was born in Berlin where she studied drama and quickly became a popular figure appearing on stage in plays and musicals. Lucie Mannheim, the actress, has died in Germany at the age of 71. Distinguished in Germany, she was swiftly recognized, both for emotional parts and as a comedienne, when she reached London from Berlin in the mid-1930s. After the war her most important stage work was again in Germany. Born near Berlin, she acted while still a schoolgirl.
Lucie Mannheim made her mark in the world of entertainment when she worked on "The 39 Steps" (1935) with Robert Donat. In 1956, she had her first recurring TV role on "The Scarlet Pimpernel". In 1970, she had her final film role in "First Love". Mannheim's husband was Marius Goring.
