He was the heir presumptive of Mecklenburg-Strelitz from the death of his father on 5 June 1752 until he succeeded his uncle Duke Adolphus Frederick III on 11 December 1752. [citation needed] In 1753, he studied at the University of Greifswald. In 1764, he was installed as a member of the Order of the Garter .

7 de nov. de 2022 · Prince Ernst of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (Ernst Gottlob Albrecht; 27 August 1742 – 27 January 1814) was a member of the House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. As a younger son of Duke Charles Louis Frederick of Mecklenburg, Ernest was an elder brother of Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom, who married King George III in 1761.
Adolphus Friedrich IV was ruler of the duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, succeeding his uncle Duke Adolphus Frederick III in 1752. He was the brother to Queen Charlotte. In 1753 he studied at the University of Greifswald and in 1764 became a member of the Order of the Garter. He never married.
