History. Jacob De Witt was one of the first judges of Blüdhaven. After having sentenced a wrong person, he was tied up and thrown into the sea to drown. But for reasons still unknown, the sea made him blind but with the ability to see corruption in the hearts of the people around them.

Jacob de Witt (Dordrecht, 7 februari 1589 – aldaar, 10 januari 1674) stamde uit het Dordtse regentengeslacht De Witt. Hij was de zoon van Cornelis Fransz de Witt en Johanna Heymans, zijn oudere broer was Andries de Witt. Jacob de Witt was heer van Manezee, Melissant en Cromstrijen, houthandelaar, burgemeester en regent van Dordrecht.
