16 de ene. de 2019 · From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. William Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon (1475 – 9 June 1511) was the son of Sir Edward Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon and Elizabeth Courtenay. He married Catherine of York the sixth daughter of Edward IV of England and Elizabeth Woodville. William and Catherine had three children:

Margaret Courtenay (1663–1755), married Edmund Reynell. Jane Courtenay (born 1664), married John Rowe in 1687. Death and burial. Courtenay died aged 73 and was buried at Wolborough, the parish church of Forde House. Succession. He was succeeded by his grandson Sir William Courtenay, 2nd Baronet (1675–1735) de jure 6th Earl of Devon.
