Margaret, Lady Brooke, Ranee of Sarawak (born Margaret Alice Lili de Windt; 9 October 1849 – 1 December 1936) was the ranee of the second White Rajah of Sarawak, Charles Anthony Johnson Brooke. She published her memoir, My Life in Sarawak , in 1913.
Margaret Brooke MBE (April 10, 1915 – January 9, 2016), served as a nursing sister during the Second World War rising to the rank of lieutenant commander in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). Following the war, she earned a bachelor's degree and then a PhD in paleontology , serving as an instructor and researcher at the University of Saskatchewan 's Department of Geological Sciences.

22 de mar. de 2023 · Margaret Brooke (born Margaret Alice Lili de Windt), also known as Ranee (Queen) of Sarawak, Ranee Margaret, or Ghita to her family, penned the national anthem in honour of her husband and Sarawak’s second Rajah, Charles Brooke. The anthem remained in use until the Raj was ceded to the United Kingdom in 1946 and became its crown colony.
