Anne Bancroft se llamaba en realidad Anna Maria Louise Italiano y había nacido el 17 de septiembre de 1931 en el barrio neoyorquino del Bronx. Como se puede deducir de su nombre, era hija de inmigrantes italianos –él, sastre; ella, telefonista–, lo cual también cuadra con ese rostro de ángulos marcados, mirada profunda y, no sé, algo de indómito en su belleza morena.
