23 de oct. de 2023 · Donald Angus Cameron of Lochiel, who was the 27th clan chief, died at the age of 77 on Friday at Achnacarry Castle, near Fort William in Lochaber. He had been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
Donald Cameron of Lochiel (22 October 1769 – 14 September 1832) was a Scottish nobleman, landowner and the 22nd Lochiel of Clan Cameron. He is also remembered for his role in the Highland clearances .
Clan Cameron is a West Highland Scottish clan, with one main branch Lochiel, and numerous cadet branches. The Clan Cameron lands are in Lochaber [7] and within their lands lies Ben Nevis which is the highest mountain in the British Isles. [8] The Chief of the clan is customarily referred to as simply "Lochiel".
