Posteriormente estos dirían que el corte del bisturí fue simultáneo al serrado del hueso.
Empezaremos tranquilizándote. Robert Liston fue un cirujano escocés del siglo XIX. Su figura nos queda pues muy atrás, pero si hay algo que nos sorprende es que a pesar de ser muy conocido a día de hoy dentro del área de la cirugía, la historia popular suele nombrar a Liston como el especialista más peligroso en una sala de operaciones.

Robert Liston (1794 - 1847) là bác sĩ phẫu thuật nổi tiếng người Scotland, người được mệnh danh “con dao nhanh nhất ở West End”. Trước khi thuốc gây mê ra đời, ông rất nổi danh bởi tốc độ của bác sĩ phẫu thuật sẽ quyết định mức độ đau đớn, tỷ lệ sống sót của bệnh nhân.

He carried out an amputation within two and a half minutes. However, as he wielded his scalpel, he cut through the coattails of a spectator who was terrified that he was injured and so dropped dead.
