RICHARD OWEN. Richard Owen (Lancaster, 20 de julio de 1804-Londres, 18 de diciembre de 1892) fue un biólogo, paleontólogo y anatomista comparativo inglés. Biographical Data. Richard Owen was born in Lancaster, England, on July 20, 1804. His family traced its ancestry back to both Lancashire and French Huguenot ancestry; his dark hair and features would suggest his mother's French heritage. Owen's family was not wealthy, and Owen's father died when the boy was five years old.
