13 de jun. de 2014 · Louis Wain was born in London in 1860, the eldest child of William, a textile traveller, and Felicia, a designer of carpets. Louis had five younger sisters. As a child he was regarded as physically weak, not starting school until the age of 10 where his academic performance was indifferent, and from which he played truant frequently.

Louis Wain’s drawings became more abstract and stylised later in his career, and some say this is evidence of his mental health problems. However, others argue that his stylistic drawings may have just been the result of experimentation, and we should not view Wain’s personality and mental health problems in such a simplistic way.
