Nato il 11 febbraio 1881 a Quargnento, un piccolo paese nel nord Italia, Carrà mostrò un interesse precoce per l’arte e fu incoraggiato dai suoi genitori a seguire la sua passione.

In addition to his many paintings, he wrote a number of books concerning art. He taught for many years in the city of Milan.
