His earlier education took place in institutions of the Moravian Brethren (Herrnhuter), a strict pietist sect. However, while there he also pursued broader humanistic interests.
Como veremos más adelante, uno de los principales aportes de Friedrich Schleiermacher es fundar una hermenéutica general que busca evitar el “malentendido” (Mißverständnis), más allá de los estrechos límites de una hermenéutica sacra o filológica, para extender la comprensión a la relación de los hombres entre sí y a su relación con el mundo (Arndt y Dierken: 2017).
Friedrich Daniel Ernst Schleiermacher fue un teólogo, filólogo y filósofo alemán, especialmente célebre como teórico de la hermenéutica. Procedente de la tradición protestante, fue sin duda uno de los teólogos alemanes del siglo xviii de mayor importancia, pues es conocido como el padre de la teología moderna.
