  2. The Queens College Step Test is a sub-maximal test used to estimate cardiorespiratory fitness. It involves stepping up and down on a 16.25 inch step at a cadence of 22 steps/minute for females and 24 steps/minute for males for 3 minutes. After the test, heart rate is measured for 15 seconds and multiplied by 4 to calculate beats per minute.
