The history of Zanzibar shows that the British Empire gained control of Zanzibar over time, sometimes gradually and other times in bursts. Britain took control of the island in 1890, making it a British territory.

9 de may. de 2016 · As the Anglo-Portuguese alliance did not cover internal rebellion and discord, British policy did not for the most part contradict the provisions of the treaty. After Brazilian independence the Anglo-Portuguese alliance no longer applied to Brazil with whom Britain was able to treat with separately. Kind regards
Besides the Portuguese, the Dutch, the British, and the French, the Danes entered India as traders in 1616 and obtained Trancquabar port from the Nayaks of Tanjore in 1620 and built a fort there. Though they started factories at Masulipatnam, port Novo, and Serampur, their success in trading business was short-lived as their sources were scanty.
